What Anyone Can Hold Us To

A policy is only real if the person it protects can find it, invoke it and get an answer. Each one below says what it commits us to, who can use it and where the written document sits. Any of them can be requested in full, in Hindi or English.

Approved by the Governing Board and reviewed on the cycle stated on each card. Write to [email protected] for a copy or to raise a concern.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

This policy covers every transaction made on this website, whether an investment, a membership payment or a fee. An investment is a voluntary contribution and is not ordinarily refundable once the receipt has been issued and the amount has entered the audited account. We make exceptions where the payment should not have happened at all: a duplicate charge, an amount entered in error, a transaction the account holder did not authorise, or a technical failure in which money left your account and no receipt was raised.

Write to [email protected] within fourteen days of the transaction, with the date, the amount and the payment reference. We acknowledge within three working days and complete an approved refund within fourteen working days. Money is returned only to the account and instrument it came from, never to a third party. Bank and gateway charges already deducted cannot be recovered, and are shown to you before the refund is processed.

A recurring investment can be cancelled at any time, with no reason required and no further amount taken from the next cycle onward. Amounts already collected in earlier cycles are treated under the paragraphs above. Where an 80G receipt has already been issued and the amount reported in Form 10BD, a refund requires the receipt to be surrendered and the statement to be revised, and we will tell you what that means for a deduction already claimed.

Foreign contributions are treated differently, and we will not promise what the law does not allow. A contribution received into the designated Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act account cannot simply be sent back on request. Returning it is an outbound foreign remittance from a restricted account, governed by that Act, by the Foreign Exchange Management Act and by the bank that holds the account, and it may require the bank’s clearance or the concurrence of the Ministry of Home Affairs before anything can move.

If you believe a foreign contribution was sent in error, was unauthorised, or should not have been accepted, write to us and we will examine it with our auditor and our bank. Where a return is permissible, it goes only to the originating foreign account, never to an Indian account and never to a third party, and it is reported in that year’s Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act return. Where a return is not permissible, we will tell you so plainly, in writing, with the reason. Until the position is settled the amount is held unspent.

Every refund is entered in the same audited ledger as the receipt it reverses, carries the same reference, and appears in the year’s statutory accounts. A refund is never quietly netted off against income.

Cookie Policy, in Our Context

This site is a record of public work, not a marketing funnel. We set no advertising cookies and we do not sell or share what the site records. Essential cookies remember your language, your light or dark setting, and the cookie choice you made, so we do not ask again on every visit. Performance cookies, if you allow them, count visits and pages so we can tell whether a story or a register entry is being read. Functional cookies let embedded maps, documents and video load from the services that host them. Nothing on this site profiles a reader.

Your choice is stored on your own device and can be changed or withdrawn at any time from Cookie Settings in the footer. Clearing your browser storage removes it entirely. Where a child or an adolescent may be the reader, we treat the same default as for everyone: nothing beyond the essential is set unless it has been chosen.
